The IFPA re-submitted the
application on January 31, 2007 in compliance with
IHRSA’s recommendation that Health Clubs only accept
certifications that have begun the NOCA/NCCA
Accreditation process. The IHRSA recommendation was
initiated due to the plethora of new fitness certifying
agencies of questionable quality preying on unsuspecting
“would-be trainers”. The IFPA and a few other
organizations began the NOCA/NCCA process as a step to
prove legitimacy and separation from what some described
as “nefarious organizations of little or no value to the
fitness profession”.
NOCA/NCCA can make only 1 of 3 responses to
an application:
1. APPROVE
2. DEFER
3. DENY
The IFPA received a “DEFER” as a result of
the IFPA’s satisfactory completion of 18 of the 21 NOCA/NCCA Standards.
The deferment was awarded because the NOCA/NCCA
requested additional documentation on parts of three Standards: 11a,
13c, and 15a (all 21 Standards can be viewed in their entirety at
www.noca.org). The IFPA will submit this documentation prior to the
next scheduled NOCA/NCCA Commissioners’ meeting scheduled for the first
week of August. The IFPA will be looking forward to another
announcement following the commissioners’ meeting.
The IFPA is currently approved by IACET, the
International Association of Continuing Education and Training. IACET is
the world’s largest authority of CEC/CEU providership and authorization
for the IFPA to offer IACET CEC/CEUs with IFPA courses, certifications,
conference seminars, and workshops. This is a positive proof that the
quality of IFPA educational offerings is far superior to anything
available in the fitness industry.
IACET provides CEC/CEUs to almost all
professions: medical, health, education, health care, numerous
therapeutical fields, and much, much more.
The only certification you should accept are
from those very few organizations that are willing to undertake the NOCA/NCCA
Accreditation process and the only CEC/CEUs you should accept are from
organizations that are willing to be IACET providers.
