For Personal Development

From Jim Bell, MS, President, IFPA

I am often times asked for my secret to success. Though this question seems simple, the answer is very complex. The “Readers Digest Abridged Version” of the answer to this question starts with the immortal words of Sir Isaac Newton “If I have accomplished anything, it is because I have stood on the shoulders of Giants!” I am indebted to many Giants, who through the generosity of their great tomes of knowledge changed my life.

There are thousands of great books; the following 12 are the ones I selected for you to start with. You can benefit most from your reading if you utilize a journal and outline the books as you read. This is how you transform reading into learning.

The next step is to transform your learning into action. There are many great books, with many great ideas, but only those ideas that you put into action will help make you great.

I wish you all the very best in all your endeavors and don’t forget “Success is a journey, not a destination.”
