"Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing himself." - Leo Tolstoy
The IFPA is pleased to announce a new chapter in the revised version of the IFPA Personal Fitness Trainer Manual, which was initially created to introduce aspiring personal fitness trainers to a broad scope of what knowledge, skills & abilities are really crucial in the personal fitness trainer industry. As of today, it has been edited, updated, and revamped to include new examples, tables, and a better depiction of what it takes to become an effective personal fitness trainer. As many of our IFPA Certified Personal Fitness Trainers have come to know, we strive to keep our material not only as up do date as possible, but as accurate and beneficial to you so that you can be as effective in your personal fitness training career as possible. Additionally, we expect our trainers to keep their knowledge and certifications current, and feel that we would be remiss in our obligation and expectation of our members if we did not, at a minimum, meet or exceed that baseline expectation. This 2007 revision of the IFPA Personal Fitness Training Manual is the 17th edition since the founding of the IFPA in 1994. 17 editions in 14 years may seem excessive to some, but it is essential to maintain our commitment of excellence to you, as you must maintain your commitment of excellence to your clients. This months FitBit includes the entire first chapter of the IFPA Personal Fitness Trainer Certification Manual, an important value to you, the dedicated fitness professional, with our compliments. We invite your comments, and we will continue to strive to bring you the knowledge, skills & abilities you need for success. Congratulations to all of you who have attained and kept current on your certifications, you are truly a success. To encourage your continued success, we hope you will take the time to read through this new material and perhaps revisit the beginning of your training days. For those of you still on the fence, or wondering whether or not Personal Fitness Training is for you, this is a great opportunity for you to see if you’ve got what it takes to enter this prestigious and rewarding career field. Keep in mind, this is only the beginning. The great successful men & women of the world have used their imaginations…they think ahead and create their mental picture in all its details, filling in here, adding a little there, altering this a bit and that a bit, but steadily building - steadily building. Keep building your knowledge, building your clients, and building your career. Pity the man who inherits a million and isn't a millionaire. It would be truly pitiful if your income grew and you didn't.
