IFPA CEU Update

Doing an additional certification for renewal on PFT or any other Cert will renew them for 2 years.

When turning in CEUs it would renew current certifications for only 1 year.

Certified Personal Fitness Trainers are required to obtain 12 CEUs prior to the expiration of their training certification for renewal.   The expiration date is designated on your certificate and membership card. There is a $25 renewal fee for each designated certification.  It is mandatory that 6 credits must be of IFPA course material which can be obtained by IFPA Certifications or Continuing Education Courses.  In effect as of 8-1-05, Outside source material health & fitness related can be submitted for approval for up to 6 credits with an additional $20 fee per each CEU report form. CEU credits must be obtained during the time period in which the original certification was valid.  CEUs above the required minimum may NOT be applied to a future certification period.

When the certificate comes up for renewal, the certified individual is required to submit all relevant information pertaining to CEU credits obtained.  Once approved and submitted with the appropriate fees, the individual will be granted a new certificate that will expire one year after the initial expiration date. Please note, presenting CEU information for recertification is the responsibility of the individual certified.  To renew ones certification, all necessary documents must be submitted to the IFPA prior to the expiration of the certification.
