Core Training CEC (6 credits)

The Core Training Continuing Education course is designed to further the knowledge of all fitness professionals with an emphasis on the core region. Its sole purpose is to further your professional education in abdominal and low back exercises. This is not a certification course. It is an educational program to be used by all fitness professionals striving to raise their level of professionalism.

The Core Training Course includes the benefits of a strong core and a complete program of fitness that includes strength training, cardiovascular endurance, and flexibility. It also provides a formula for creating individualized programs. This will help maintain or even improve abdominal/low back strength and flexibility to enjoy a more healthy active life.


Distance Learning (6 CEU's) $119

CEC Learning Objectives
  1. Learn specific training techniques for fitness and sports conditioning experts on how to develop abdominal and back muscles.
  2. Learn the scientific basis for the argument that the body’s stability and power come from its center.
  3. Learn how to develop the body’s core musculature for maximum fitness and athletic performance.
  4. Learn how to develop strong abdominal and torso muscles for maximum fitness and performance.
  5. Learn how to develop strong abdominal and torso muscles to enhance physical appearance and increase mobility.
CEC Learning Outcomes
  1. Understand how to develop stronger abdominal and back muscles to prevent low back pain – the most common physical ailment in the industrialized world.
  2. Understand the extensive benefits provided by stronger abdominal and back muscles.
  3. Understand the application of abdominal and back muscle training programs from the office workers who stiffen up while sitting at a desk all week; to the weekend warriors who play 36 holes on a free day at the course; to the serious athletes who want the utmost power to perform closer to their potential.
  4. Understand how to coach and develop training programs with the best and most comprehensive fitness level of your athletes in mind.
  5. Master the 165 exercises for developing flexibility, strength and power.
CEC Goals
  1. Develop a high level of competency for developing a strong core for sports performance.
  2. Develop a high level of competency for developing a strong core for fitness.
  3. Develop a high level of competency for conducting safe and effective warm-up, stretching and cool down.
  4. Develop a high level of competency for trunk stabilization and balance exercises and guidelines.
  5. Develop a high level of competency for all Ab Fitness exercises.
  6. Develop a high level of competency for all Ab Strength exercises.
  7. Develop a high level of competency for all Ab Power exercises.
  8. Develop a high level of competency for the Abs and Back Training Program.

This course will provide you with over 165 different exercises to help strengthen the core region. The primary purpose of Core Training is to bridge the gap between the general population and competitive athlete by providing abdominal and low back routines that challenge all individuals at all levels. The exercises are divided according to their level of difficulty. As a personal trainer or group fitness instructor, you can easily implement the exercises for you clients or class.
