“Don’t spend your precious time asking: “Why
isn’t the world a better place?” It will only be time wasted. The
question to ask is “How can I make it better?” To that there is an
answer.”
- Leo F. Buscaglia
Announcing the IFPA Faculty Instructor of
the Year for 2004
The
individuals who are the recipients of these IFPA honors have all asked
themselves the question posted above: “How can I make the world better?”
They have each made a commitment to utilize all their knowledge, skill,
talent, time, energy and resources to accomplish that goal, and through
sheer tenacity and perseverance have achieved success.
I am
honored to know each and every one of them, ecstatic to have their
immeasurable talent in the fitness industry and proud to have them on
the IFPA team! Faculty Instructor of the Year for 2004 is David Sandler,
PhDc (Candidate). David is an exercise science and strength and
conditioning professor at Florida International University where he
developed, and currently directs, the Strength and Conditioning
Curriculum. He is the former strength and conditioning coach at the
University of Miami, and proudly wears his NCAA championship ring as a
testament to the “Mastery of His Craft.” David has been a
strength and conditioning consultant for more than 15 years. He has
presented more than 50 international, national, and regional lectures,
authored 2 books, and published over 15 scientific abstracts and more
than 30 articles on power and strength training. He is the chairman for
the Arnold Strength Training Summit, hosted by Arnold Schwarzenegger, at
the Arnold Classic every year. He is the founder of Strength Pro and
enjoys faculty and developmental positions with several organizations.
He is a consultant and member of the Advisory Board for Muscle and
Fitness Magazine. David is also a former champion powerlifter.
The
IFPA is proud to have him as a member of our Faculty. David will be
returning to the IFPA Fitness By the Bay Conference this year, July
28-30, 2005. David was an outstanding presenter last year who shared
many valuable training secrets with the conference attendees. He
promises even more valuable trade secrets this year.
You
