“It isn’t the money.
It’s the hunger, the desire, and it’s hard to turn it off. It’s about
pride, and it’s about ego.”
-Chris Evert
Chris Evert is one of
the greatest tennis players of all time. She used her pride and ego to
become the world’s number ONE female tennis player among a field of
great tennis players; not once, but five times. During her career she
won 18 Grand Slam Titles. All of these achievements can be attributed to
her drive for excellence – to be the best!
It is time to consider
what you are doing in your own personal drive for excellence. How many
books have you read this month that will help drive you to excellence in
your career, relationships and self-development? How many motivational
tapes, CDs or videos have you watched or listened to that will help
drive you to excellence?
Remember, a few months
back I sent you a Recommended Reading List. How many books on that list
have you read? I sent you that list for a reason, to help you, help
yourself. I firmly believe that failure is the result of poor thinking
and poor choices. The only things that can truly stop you from success
are your own thoughts and emotions.
I specifically chose
those books for the impact they made on my thoughts and emotions. I want
you to take advantage of the wisdom of all those authors. I specifically
chose the topics and presenters at the IFPA “Fitness-By-the-Bay”
Conference to increase your skill and knowledge in
order to help drive you to excellence please take advantage of the
wisdom of all those presenters.
Sincerely,
Jim Bell, MS, IFPA President
