The IFPA has
become the first Certification and Education Association in the fitness
industry to become an IACET (International Association for Continuing
Education and Training) authorized provider. The IACET Commission approved the
IFPA on November 18, 2005.
The benefit
to every member of the IFPA as well as those taking IFPA Certification and
CEU's (Continuing Education Units) Courses is that now the IFPA will offer
IFPA and IACET CEU's upon completion of IFPA CEU courses/presentations. IFPA
and IACET CEU’s will be accepted as valid, credible CEU's by hundreds of
private, health, medical, municipal, state and federal organizations as well
as numerous colleges, universities and other educational entities. Only
Organizations that meet IACET's internationally recognized continuing
education and training standards are approved as Authorized Providers.
Authorized Providers may award IACET Continuing Education Units (CEUs).
Organizations transition to an Authorized Provider only after successful
completion of an application and site visit.
In addition
to IFPA Certification and CEU courses, many IFPA and other Fitness Industry
Conferences where IFPA Faculty present will be authorized to award IACET CEUs
such as the IFPA Fitness-By-the-Bay Conference, IFPA University West (at the
National Fitness Tradeshow), the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine
Conference held in conjunction with IFPA University, Club Industry (when
attending an IFPA Faculty Member’s Presentation) ect…
This is an
extremely cost effective way for professionals from a wide variety of fields
(medical, health, education, etc) to get IFPA CEUs and IACET CEUs to
simultaneously count toward fitness and other professional fields.
The IFPA is
proud to have attained this elite level credential and congratulates all IFPA
Departments for a job well done on getting through IACET's scrutiny on both
the application process as well as the site inspection visit.
The IFPA is
also making the necessary administrative and organizational adjustments to
acquire the NCCA/NOCA accreditation. Both IACET and NOCA are very exacting in
their standards.
NOCA has
great emphasis on administration of a certification; while IACET has great
emphasis on meeting the learning objectives of course work. Those of you that
have been through IFPA courses already know how valuable and unique IFPA
courses are to your success in your chosen career. Soon the IFPA will have
both IACET and NCCA/NOCA Accreditation. It is our firm believes that any
organization offering a certification should begin and eventually complete the
NCCA/NOCA process and any organization offering an education course or
presentation at Fitness Industry Conference should attain IACET Provider
Authorization.
