- The Department of
Health and Human Services (HHS) made a major policy reversal last
week. HHS is now allowing doctors to bill Medicare for obesity
treatment. Until this change HHS ruled that obesity was not a
medical issue.
Initially the medical community will rely on surgery and drug
treatments, but you can expect that in the not so distant future
someone will discover that professionally supervised exercise and
healthy nutrition are a safe and more effective method.
