- The
ability to discipline yourself to delay gratification in the short
term in order to enjoy greater rewards in the long term is an
indispensable
-
pre-requisite for success.

I have
some other FitBits planned this month, but this just came across my desk
and it is urgent I get this information out to you.
According to S. Claiborne Johnston, MD, PhD and Director of Stroke
Service at University of California, San Francisco, 80% of primary care
doctors could not identify the typical symptoms of a ministroke.
Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA) occurs when an artery to the brain
becomes blocked. Symptoms include numbness or weakness in the face, arm
or leg (especially on one side), visual difficulties (and this can be in
one or both eyes), confusion, trouble speaking, difficulty walking and
dizziness.
You
should remember from your IFPA Personal Trainer Certification when to
call 911, add these symptoms to your list. Getting your client to the
hospital immediately may prevent a full blown stroke from occurring.
- Sincerely,
- Jim Bell, PhDc, IFPA President
