CAN YOUR SUPPLEMENTS BE KILLING YOU?

The FDA (Food and Drug Administration) has posted warnings on Tri Methyl Xtreme and Quad-Methyl Xtreme. They have been found to have multiple forms of steroids and act very similar to steroids and can carry the same risks as steroids.

In some instances, the manufacturing process and poor quality ingredients can carry greater risks than steroids. This includes irreversible organ damage to the liver, kidneys, heart, along with breast enlargement (in males, reverse in females), testicular atrophy (shrinkage of the testicles and potentially male genitalia, again the opposite for females. Females can get alarming hypertrophy: enlargement of female genitalia.). Many of these side-effects can lead to permanent male infertility. Some research has indicated that permanent damage to your DNA can occur that can be passed through 3 generations due to some steroids (both male and female).

Unfortunately, many of the muscle building supplements currently on the market have been “spiked” with steroids and since all steroids are illegal, they are never listed on the label. Many competitive athletes have been shocked to discover they have flunked a drug test because the “healthy, natural” supplement they were taking contained steroids.

Plus, it is not only the muscle building that may be dangerous. Many supplements have undisclosed ingredients that can be unhealthy, illegal, banned, or dangerous.

Some fat loss supplements contain risky stimulants such as DMAA (Geranium extract) or sibutramine, which is a banned prescription weight loss drug. Another potentially dangerous ingredient in weight loss supplements is Green Tea Extract which has been increasingly implicated in liver damage.

According to a study published in the New England Journal of Medicine “Supplement ingestion accounts for over 23,00 Emergency Room visits/year!”

Even some of the most popular Protein Powder and Meal Replacement Powder supplements have been shown to have toxic levels of heavy metals.

It is also critical to keep in mind that almost any nutrient can become toxic at high doses. As an example: high water intake can kill! Consuming more than 3 gallons of water in less than 60 minutes can flush out critically needed electrolytes that are essential to keep your muscles working. Never forget that your heart is a muscle! You can stop your heart at those levels of water intake!
