Dear Dr. Bell, what is your view on drinking coffee while taking preworkout? I’m trying to clean up my meal planning/exercise programming/etc.
For some people, drinking 2 cups of coffee with a pre-workout should not be a problem, but it does depend on your health, conditioning and the specific supplement. Many pre-workouts already contain an average of 300mg/caffeine/serving. If you feel jittery, anxious or rapid heart beat or fluttering you might have exceeded your caffeine limit, or the caffeine from your coffee may be interacting with the Thermogenic Blend contained in your pre-workout supplement. In either case, you should re-consider your caffeine intake or use of that particular pre-workout supplement.
