Since weight loss typically ranks among the most popular of New Year Resolutions the following FitBit is offered to help you and yours to achieve that goal. A huge study lasting 10years on 5,000 people shows that people who drank DIET SODA gained five more pounds and two inches of waist circumference than those who did not.
The researchers: Dr. Sharon Fowler, the Director of Clinical Epidemiology Research for the University of Texas (UT) and Dr. Helen Hazuda, the Director of Health Research at UT made several remarkable observations. These observations include:
-Diet Soda drinkers had a 178 percent increase in their waist sizes when compared to non-drinkers
-Diet Soda is actually worse for your health than regular soda
-Diet soda increases the risk of becoming overweight when compared to drinking regular soda
-The man-made, artificial chemical sweeteners, flavors and coloring have ZERO NUTRITIONAL VALUE
-Those that drank diet soda drinks: for each diet drink per day was 65 percent more likely to become overweight during the next seven to eight years
-Each diet drink per day the subjects consumed made them 70 percent more likely to develop fatter waist lines
In 2007, a Harvard Study published in the official journal of the American Heart Association (AHA): Circulation, found that diet soda drinkers increased their chance of getting metabolic syndrome by 50 percent. The study by a top doctor and senior lecturer at Harvard Medical School, Dr. Ravi Dhingra concluded that, “Those who drink diet soft drinks daily are at increased risk of developing metabolic syndrome.”
According to Dr. Jennifer Nettleton (UT) and her research findings of almost 7,000 people, published in Diabetes Care in 2009, she found that an additional 36 percent of people who drank diet soda developed metabolic syndrome over people who did not drink it.
The 2008 edition of circulation of the University of Minnesota published the results of a 9 year study of almost 10,000 people. They found that those who drank diet soda increased their waist size by 200 percent compared to those who did not drink diet soda.
There are numerous theories on why the consequences of diet soda are so horrific, but no established facts at this point. One theory is that chemical sweeteners trick the body into reacting as if it was taking in sugar. This can cause the same negative metabolic and biochemical reactions that simple sugar intake can cause. When you consider that artificial sweeteners are made to taste sweeter than sugar, the body’s reaction to this taste can cause a greater and even more negative reaction than regular sugar.
Dr. Barbara Corky, the Vice Chair of Research at the Boston University School of Medicine, who won the American Diabetes Association (ADA) Award for Scientific Achievement, headed-up a study to test the theory. She gave lab rats aspartame and found that it caused a massive release of insulin. That massive release of insulin might be the result of how sweet aspartame is…
According to the former Director of Medical Studies at Yale School of Medicine, Dr. David Katy, “Artificial sweeteners are 200 to 13,000 times as sweet as sugar. That’s a potent stimulus for turning a sweet tooth into a fang! The more you eat, the more you need to feel fully satisfied.”
According to Dr. David Ludwig, a professor of nutrition at Harvard Medical School, “Diet drinks disrupt the hormonal pathways for regular hunger and satiety … (and disrupt) evolutionarily pathways.”
Regular soda may be bad for you, but diet soda is poison. Stop drinking diet soda immediately! It is completely artificial! It s a chemistry experiment that is destroying the health of those who drink it.
Switch to water, mineral water, green tea, herbal teas, black tea, etc. You can use slices of fruit such as lemon, lime, oranges, etc. or natural sweetener such as pure honey or coconut nectar.
Avoid High fructose corn syrup or Agave nectar.
