Bodyweight Strength Training

Strength—no gym required. This 6 Credit CEU shows you how to turn bodyweight into a precise training tool by manipulating leverage, range of motion, tempo, and time under tension. You’ll map progressions for push, pull, squat, hinge, and core; blend isometrics, eccentrics, and pauses for maximal stimulus; and build joint-friendly sessions that scale from first rep to advanced variations. Programming covers minimalist warm-ups, microcycle templates, and testing (AMRAPs, timed holds, rep quality) so you can train anywhere, maintain consistency, and keep getting stronger without extra gear.This course offers flexible learning pathways to suit your style:

Course Goals


  • Use leverage and tempo to dose difficulty without equipment.
  • Progress core patterns (push, pull, squat, hinge, carry/plank) safely and logically.
  • Build sessions that balance strength, mobility, and joint tolerance.
  • Apply isometric and eccentric methods to break plateaus.
  • Track progress with simple, repeatable field tests.

Learning Objectives


  • Explain how body position, limb length, ROM, and cadence alter load.
  • Select regressions/progressions for common moves (incline push-up → dip; row → pull-up; split squat → pistol).
  • Program volume, density, and rest for strength vs. hypertrophy outcomes.
  • Use AMRAPs, tempo sets, and timed holds to measure adaptation and guide progression.

  • Coach precise setup, bracing, and cueing for tension and control.
