Foam Rolling
Turn a simple roller into a recovery and mobility system. This 6 Credit CEU teaches you how to scan tissues, choose contact points, and dose pressure, cadence, and duration to create meaningful change—without bruising or guesswork. You’ll pair breathwork and down-regulation with targeted rolling, then follow with mobility and activation so gains “stick.” Learn warm-up vs. cooldown strategies, when to roll (and when not to), and how to adapt techniques for lifters, runners, desk-bound clients, and older adults. Tools include rollers (soft to firm), balls, and sticks; safety covers common red flags and sensitive areas. Leave with 5–10 minute templates for pre-lift, post-run, and daily maintenance, plus simple checks (range, soreness, movement quality) to confirm what’s working.
This course offers our most flexible learning pathway:
- E-course with E-book – Perfect for those who love learning on-the-go.
Course Goals
- Replace random rolling with clear intent, targets, and dosage.
- Pair rolling → mobility → activation to lock in usable range.
- Adjust pressure and positions for different bodies and goals.
- Apply warm-up, cooldown, and between-session strategies safely.
- Track response with quick before/after movement checks.
Learning Objectives
- Differentiate tool types, densities, and shapes and when to use each.
- Identify high-yield regions and no-go zones; recognize basic contraindications.
- Set pressure, cadence, and time using comfort scales and client feedback.
- Integrate breathwork and nervous-system cues to reduce guarding and pain.
- Build short protocols for lifting days, running days, and desk-recovery blocks.
Skills Gained
-
Create targeted rolling maps for shoulders, hips, spine, calves, and feet.
- Coach body positioning, angles, and leverage for safer, effective pressure.
- Regress/progress methods (off-load, pin-and-stretch, cross-fiber, contract-relax).
- Blend rollers, balls, and sticks to reach hard-to-access tissues.
- Evaluate effectiveness with simple ROM tests and adjust protocols in real time.
