Learn how surface, footwear, stiffness, and arm swing affect output; progress athletes from low-impact hops and skips to bounds, countermovement and depth jumps, and upper-body plyos. Program contacts, intensity, and recovery by phase; pair plyometrics with strength and sprint work for maximal transfer; and manage risk for knees, Achilles, and low back. You’ll use readiness screens and simple metrics—jump height and distance, ground-contact time, RSI, and repeat-effort tests—to individualize loads, track progress, and keep athletes fast, healthy, and competition-ready.
