Postural Assessment

Posture tells a story—learn to read it clearly. This 12 Credit CEU teaches rapid static and dynamic screens, regional interdependence (neck–thorax–pelvis), and how common patterns (forward head, rounded shoulders, anterior tilt) show up in gait and key lifts. You’ll capture reliable observations with photo/video angles, translate findings into mobility–stability–integration sequences, and weave correctives into warm-ups and strength work. Ergonomics for work/sleep, cueing that sticks, and practical metrics help you track what matters: less discomfort, better range, and smoother movement in daily life and training.

This course offers flexible learning pathways to suit your style:

  • E-course with Printed Book – Ideal for a hands-on approach with the blend of digital and physical learning.
  • Printed Book with Physical Course Materials – Great for tactile learners who prefer comprehensive, hands-on materials.

Course Goals

  • Establish a quick, repeatable posture and movement screen.
  • Connect alignment findings to mobility, stability, and motor-control priorities.
  • Build correctives that progress into strength and daily tasks.
  • Coach ergonomic fixes for desk, driving, and sleep setups.
  • Track change with simple pain, ROM, and function markers.

Learning Objectives

  • Differentiate common postural presentations and their likely compensations.
  • Select safe tests for alignment, mobility, and control (wall, reach, step, gait).
  • Organize interventions using a mobility → activation → integration framework.
  • Cue head/neck position, thoracic mobility, scapular control, and pelvic alignment effectively.
  • Program phased progressions that transition from correctives to resilient strength.

Skills Gained

  • Build fast posture checklists and photo/video workflows.
  • Choose high-leverage exercise pairings that match specific findings.
  • Coach breathing/bracing to manage pressure and support spinal position.
  • Modify workstations and daily habits to offload hot-spots.
  • Document improvements and communicate next steps clients understand.
