Help clients move and feel better by addressing posture at its root. In the Postural Specialist certification, you’ll assess static and dynamic alignment, identify common deviations (e.g., forward head, rounded shoulders, anterior pelvic tilt), and spot compensations in gait and key patterns. Learn to pair mobility, stability, and motor-control drills with strength progressions; coach breathing and bracing to manage pressure; and integrate ergonomics for work, lifting, and daily life. You’ll write simple corrective blocks, cue efficiently, and track changes in pain, range, and function—so posture improvements translate to real-world performance.
Postural Specialist
Course Goals
- Perform posture and movement screens to pinpoint key deviations.
- Link findings to mobility, stability, and motor-control priorities.
- Program correctives that progress into strength and daily movement.
- Coach breathing/bracing and ergonomics to reduce strain.
- Measure outcomes (pain, ROM, function) to refine plans.
Learning Objectives
- Describe common postural patterns and their typical movement compensations.
- Select safe assessments for alignment, mobility, and control (e.g., wall tests, reach, gait).
- Match correctives to findings: soft-tissue, mobility, activation, integration, strength.
- Teach cueing for cervical/thoracic position, scapular control, pelvic alignment, and core pressure.
- Build phased plans that shift from corrective work to resilient, task-specific strength.
Skills Gained
- Create quick posture screens and actionable checklists.
- Choose effective exercise pairings (mobilize → activate → integrate).
- Coach desk, lifting, and sleep ergonomics clients can sustain.
