Pre and Post Natal Specialist

Support strong, safe training through every trimester and postpartum. In the Pre & Post Natal Specialist certification, you’ll screen for trimester-specific risks and red flags; coach breath, pelvic-floor engagement, and pressure management; and tailor strength, cardio, and mobility with evidence-based modifications for supine time, impact, heat, and balance changes. Address diastasis recti and pelvic girdle pain, prep for labor with positioning and mobility, and plan symptom-guided returns to lifting and running. You’ll coordinate with healthcare providers, cue with clarity, track RPE and recovery, and design programs that preserve fitness, protect core and floor, and support real-life sleep, stress, and lactation demands.

Course Goals

  • Screen trimester risks and postpartum red flags; refer when needed.
  • Build mastery in breath, pelvic-floor, and pressure management.
  • Program strength/cardio/mobility with pregnancy-safe modifications.
  • Address diastasis and pelvic girdle pain with symptom-led progressions.
  • Coordinate with providers; prioritize autonomy, safety, and long-term fitness.

Learning Objectives

  • Summarize key physiological changes across trimesters and postpartum; link to training.
  • Use screening/monitoring (contraindications, RPE/talk test, symptom logs) to set intensity.
  • Scale squat, hinge, push, pull, carry, and gait with trimester-safe setups and tempos.
  • Cue 360° breathing, pelvic-floor up/down-training, and bracing to manage pressure/load.
  • Map phased returns to lifting/running using readiness criteria and clear stop/modify cues.

Skills Gained

  • Create trimester-specific training templates and progression ladders.
  • Choose safe substitutes for higher-risk moves while preserving pattern goals.
  • Coach everyday ergonomics (sleep setups, sit-to-stand, carries) to limit flare-ups.
  • Teach self-management: pacing, breath resets, and simple recovery “micro-doses.”
  • Keep clear session notes and progressions that support healthcare collaboration.
